Metal Scrap Records.

Force out.

Variety Of Death Zine

ForceOut are a band from Ukraine that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Delusion" which was released by Metal Scrap Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced drumming with not much in the way of fast playing or blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced melodic death metal riffs that have a Swedish feeling to them while also mixing in some heavy elements in the riffing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads that combine traditional and death metal together, as for the acoustic guitars when t hey are utilized they use finger picking to enhance the darker elements of the recording.
Vocals range from deep death metal growls to high pitched screams as well as a brief use of clean singing female and male vocals, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Ukrainian and English with themes that cover darkness and everyday topics, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion ForceOut are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Living In Lie" "Lost Feel" and "Not My Delusion". RECOMMENDED BUY.

I like the fact that so many different styles of metal co-exist alongside each other. I would really hate if I had to choose one of two styles and then stick to them for the rest of my life. I’m totally addicted to metal and the more styles to choose from the better I feel. This is to me death metal, perhaps a tad on the more melodeath-ish side of things of a more controlled kind. Not as frenetic or frantic as some but more in the laidback school of things. There is something familiar to this bands metal but I can’t really out my finger on it. But I do like that there is plenty of guitar solos in the music. I’ve missed a really good guitar solo for a long time now. It is annoying when you have it on the tip of your tongue yet can’t speak it. As I try to figure out what FORCEOUT reminds me of I’ll keep listening to this melodic death metal album.

Lords Of Metal

We filled ForceOut under death / grindcore. This is actually a death metal band, but it is the kind we know from Sweden. So this is the melodic style of death metal. The influences of Arch Enemy, In Flames and such bands are therefore present with this Ukrainian band!
The debut full-length 'Delusion' acquires an extra dimension, if only because two songs are sung in the native language. But the band also shows that this genre is not only reserved for the Swedes. Listen to the hard drums on 'The Same' that are as easy altered with mid-tempo drums on 'Equilibrium'. Or fast riffs on 'Not My Delusion' (one of the best songs of the album) and the solos on 'I Need Salvation'. Singer Dima has the perfect throat for both aggressive songs as for the quiet parts and everything in between. The production is crystal clear as well, which is essential in this genre. Due to all these facts ForceOut surprised me in a positive way. Ukraine is not particularly known as a country where the famous metal bands come from and I can also imagine that the facilities have not been from a top level over there. Nevertheless Metal Scrap Records dared to sign a deal with ForceOut and it worked out well. Recommended for fans of melodic death metal.

Music Guide To The Galaxy

Forceout presents us with Melodic Death Metal that sounds Swedish but is actually from the Ukraine and guess what?
It's good, no scrap that {ha get it?} it's really good.
The production is top notch. Drum, guitar and bass are all well mixed in and it results in a very clean sound that suits this kind of music. I wasn't expecting this kind of production judging by the country and the album art.
The songs bring a lot of variation themselves, this keeps repeated listenings fresh. And the music does warrant repeated listenings.
A negative aspect could be the fact that the singing is not top of the game, compared to the way the instruments sound, it should have been able to stand out a little bit more against the competition.
It's  not easy to pick a highlight song but mine would be 'Not My Delusion', but frankly their aren't any real stinkers in here.
The cover is of course based on the title 'delusions'. I like that how normally its the evil one looking out of the mirror and here it is the other way around. The booklet contains all the lyrics (even readable this time) with some 'artistic' backgrounds but it's not bad at all. A well done package.
For my part one of the best that metal scrap records have put to disc.

Nice surprise from Ukraine although you'll feel like listening to a Melodic Death Metal band a la Sweden. ForceOut's debut album will delight your ears with some top-notch guitar leads and solos, melodic and intricate to the bone, a perfect vocal type for this type of music, fast and aggressive rhythm section (although the drums sound too synthetic at times), and above all a set of curdled and mature compositions that will capture your attention and keep it tight until the end of the release. It's nice to see a new East European band with such potential, I have no doubt these youngsters will do well. And back to this release you'll get basically all you could expect from this genre: from the very good technical displays of the guitarists, to the melodic and even melancholic slower parts, top the energetic, headbanging-friendly and catchy fast parts. Good, recommended stuff!

LEGACY #85
