Slowly We Rot #9/2016

Total Metal are marketing this release as the band’s debut album, but Metal Archives says it’s their second; I’d incline towards Total Metal being right because the 2009 release, The Inner Sear, lasts only a bit over 25 minutes, so it would be better considered as EP rather than LP. Anyway, the band is around since 2007 and it seems they’ve grown into the most respected and biggest Melodic Death Metal band in Taiwan. This album was initially released for the Asian market in 2013, and now picked up by the Ukrainian label for a Worldwide release, and they did good as Diesear are a truly worthy band. Following roads open by band like Childern of Bodom or Arch Enemy, Diesear are one of those bands that rely heavily on melodic guitar leads and solos all over their material, and their advantage is that their guitarists are exceptional in both composition and execution, delivering some of the best guitar work I’ve heard in a while. The vocals are ok but could have been a bit more versatile to reach the guitars’ level, and maybe a bit more comprehensive, too, in order to make tracks a bit more memorable, but I guess the guy did his best on this release and he can’t any more than this; not that it’s bad what he doesn, but it’s not enough, just listen to the last tracks where he’s clearly overwhelmed by what he tries. The rhythm section does a good job remaining subtle yet still supporting very well the great guitar work. A very good debut album that should be followed by a second fulllength asap as it’s already old although re-released.

Уроженцы Тайваня не пошли по дорож-ке, ведущей в соседний текстильный цех, а выбрали стезю упорного творчества, завоё-вывая мир не созданием хлопчатобумажного мерча, а излиянием своих чувств. После ЕР и мини-альбома, мастера восточного melodic death металла вернулись с первой долгоиграющей пластинкой! “Ashes Of The Dawn” – это целая пилорама метала. Рукава, закатанные по локоть. Острая стружка, нещадно царапает руки, струи пота, рваные джинсы и маслянистый запах бензина. Се-рые будни Безумного Макса. Но живая ре-альность Diesear! Рассаживая по местам 10 треков диска, можно сказать, что “Silent Division” из разряда излюбленных Diesear ярких качёвых записей. Басовый грув осно-вательно утяжеляет общее звучание альбо-ма, кое-где высекая искру современного ан-деграунд-металла. “Faith in Ares” стремится наполнить жизнь смыслом, чувством соб-ственной важности, обособленности, остров-ной независимости. Стараясь обобщить композицию, на ум приходят практически строчки хайку: “Буреломом красоты хаоса”. Аутентичная “Falling Ashes” подводит итог альбому, служит напоминанием о всём творчестве азиатов. К сожалению, альбом не может похвастаться утончёнными мелодия-ми, которые в изобилии присутствовали на предыдущем “The Inner Sear”. И всё же но-вых поклонников диск должен привлечь, а старые после очередного прослушивания не будут успевать утирать слюни со рта.

DIESEAR es una banda de death melódico de Taiwán. Formada en 2007 por su guitarra, Sui, nos presentan su último trabajo de larga duración, ‘Ashes of the Dawn’ con Total War Records. Teniendo bastante tirón en Taiwán dentro de este género, con temas bastante cuidados y un sonido muy profesional.
Sin duda alguna el protagonismo de los temas lo toman totalmente las guitarras, con riffs muy melódicos y épicos acompañados por solos de guitarra geniales (por ejemplo en el tema ‘Dying Dust’) que no se quedan nada atrás. La batería es la principal responsable de la potencia de los temas, aunque echándose de menos un poquito más de brillo en temas instrumentales como en el caso de ‘Breath Remains’ o desapareciendo por completo en ‘Falling Ashes’, en los que en mi opinión podría haber brillado un poco más. En cualquier caso se salva sobradamente en otros temas como ‘Until the Light’ en que preside la pieza sobradamente por encima del resto de instrumentos y voz. Bien, pasando a las voces creo que se adecuan bastante bien al género; unos guturales más bien agudos que se asemejan a una voz rasgada (como en ‘Dig Your Lie’, en el cual casi desaparecen los guturales). Lo que no me convence de DIESEAR es que hayan elegido el inglés para sus composiciones, ya que queda patente en sus letras y pronunciación en muchas ocasiones que no se desenvuelven demasiado bien en el idioma, cosa que quizá si hubiesen elegido su lengua materna se hubiese solventado mejorando el sonido de los vocales (pero, ¡eh!, obviamente con el inglés llegarán a más público que con el taiwanés).
DIESEAR es una banda que al escucharla se aprecia esfuerzo y trabajo en sus temas. Tanto es así que han pasado por 3 sellos distintos (Total Metal, Meteora y Steel Factory Records). Además han tocado junto a grandes bandas del género, como CHILDREN OF BODOM (los cuales adivinaría que han sido una influencia para DIESEAR por algunos toques de guitarra que se aprecian en sus temas). Con muchas ganas de proyectarse a la escena más internacional y ganando mucho reconocimiento en su región ‘Ashes of the Dawn’ es un trabajo perfecto para cumplir esta tarea, y aún con algunas cosas por pulir y mucho tiempo por delante creo que esta banda tiene posibilidades, aunque quizá no ahora mismo, sí dentro de unos años.

Diesear kommer fra Taiwan og spiller helt ordinaer melodies death metal. Den lurvete pro-duksjonen drar tankene mot 90-tallets goteborgmetal, og det blir ikke feil a trekke paralleller til gammel Dark Tranquillity, Gardenian og Intestine Baalism. Disse gutta er kanskje hakket mer aggressive enn sine svenske motstykker, men det er ogsa det eneste som skiller dem en smule fra sine forgjengere. Melodier og riff er sa typiske for sin sjanger at «Ashes Of The Dawn» blirmerforglemmelig enn engasjerende. Visst ivaretar bandet noe av sjarmen som en del av dagens melodeath synes a ha mistet – i hvertfall for oss som vokste opp med goteborgmetal – men likevel sliter bandet med a utmerke seg nevneverdig. Smasure soloer og leads gjor ikke saken noe bedre. Iser d?re a stemme gitarene for fankern!

Aj na rozlohou pomerne malom ostrove ako je Taiwan existuje metalová scéna. A DIESEAR veru nerobia hanbu. Dokonca si dovolím tvrdiť, že by sa nestratili ani v spleti e u r ó p s k y c h m e l o d i c k o deathmetalových skupín. Ide tu o pomerne starší materiál, ale zub času na ňomnezanechal žiadne následky. Album je doslova nabití rôznymi me lódi ami , ktor é sú vkusne zakomponované do deathmetalových základov. Nahrávka znie moderne vďaka rôznym “core” vplyvom, takže fanúšikovia starej školy by mohli pri počúvaní trochu prskať. Ale je každého osobná vec čo hrá, navyše v prípade DIESEAR ich produkcia nie je vôbec na zahodenie.

ATMOSFEAR #17

Группа из Тайваня играет мелодэз по шведскому образцу, во только вокалы звучат немного жестче, чем характерно для стиля (дэзкоровое влияние, скорее всего). Это второй полноформатный альбом группы, а был еще и дебютный миниальбом. Впервые рассматриваемый альбом Ashes of the Dawn вышел в 2013 году и был представлен на азиатском рынке. Сейчас же диск издан и для всего оставшегося мира Что можно сказать. Все выполнено отлично. Музыканты придумали…нет, это неудачное слово. Музыканты хорошо переиграли придуманные когда-то классные рифы, а лейбл выпустил данный альбом, сопроводив его двенадцатистраничным буклетом и нанеся пит-арт на диск. Жаль, конечно, что нет никакого азиатского колорита, и ничего не напоминает что группа DIESEAR не европейцы, но в остальном альбом может быть рекомендован широкому кругу слушателей.

Here it is: death/thrash metal, the manual!
Ashes of The Dawn, the second album of Taiwanese band Diesear, is that good. Listening to this compact disc one finds it difficult to imagine that such an advanced metal band hails from the Island of Taiwan. East Asia, outside of Japan, has as much of a rock or metal tradition as Donald Trump has class or humanity. So, how did this bunch get so good?
An intro comes and goes and the band delivers a heads-down brand of brutal deathrash that oozes power and speed. The vocals are gruff and tortured, the drums syncopated and pounding and the guitarists push, pull and yank the six strings without regard. The band’s closest comparison is Arch Enemy with a good dose of Dew-Scented and Starkill thrown in. Shadows Of Grey begins with more than a nod to Japan’s Galmet and its Rebirth. The drumming keeps the proceedings entertaining by altering his pattern to the point that his machine gun approach is beautifully out of sync with the rest of the gang, the guitar leads show off ability while the harmonics keep the whole things undeservedly accessible. The singer balances this to perfection. One catch is on both Shadows Of Grey and Fearless the guitarists pull at their strings in similar fashion creating the impression that the creativity is being repeated. Breath Remains is an instrumental interlude with flair and the album closes with Dig Your Lies where the vocals take growly turn to good effect.
Nothing less than impressive about this bunch. Let us just figure out what Diesear means.

2016 steht quasi vor der Tür, da erscheint mit „Ashes Of The Dawn“ – gemessen an den sich immer mehr verkürzenden Zeit- und Aufmerksamkeitsspannen unserer schnelllebigen Gesellschaft – fast schon ein Relikt der Vergangenheit. Das Debütalbum von DIESEAR erschien nämlich bereits 2013, allerdings lediglich in deren Heimat Taiwan und obendrein in Korea sowie Japan.
Wer jetzt sofort an musikalische Gräueltaten à la Babymetal denkt, der sei beruhigt, denn der Fremdschämfaktor des Silberlings endet erfreulicherweise bei Logo und Bandfoto. Musikalisch bedient sich das Quartett aus den Bereichen des melodischen wie modernen Metals sowie todeskünstlerischer Härte, ohne sich dabei, trotz klar erkennbarer Parallelen, in die gesichtslose Riege diverser Core-Bands einzureihen. „Ashes Of The Dawn“ glänzt dabei nicht mit struktureller Brillanz, unverwechselbarer Klangästhetik oder Ohrwurmcharakter, dafür jedoch mit von Anfang bis Ende spürbarem, „jugendlichem“ Tatendrang. So muten die elf Stücke zunächst wie ein etwas chaotisches Sammelsurium als Ergebnis einer zu langen Brainstorming-Phase an, vermögen aber zweifelsohne zu unterhalten und führen zu der berechtigten Frage, ob denn nun, da seit dem Entstehen des vorliegenden Materials bereits drei Jahre ins Land gegangen sind, vielleicht schon bald akustischer Nachschlag auf dem Plan steht. Wenn sich DIESEAR die auf „Ashes Of The Dawn“ demonstrierte Frische bewahren und den Fundus an Ideen in destillierter Form mit in der Zwischenzeit gewonnener Erfahrung in Form gießen, stehen an dieser Stelle künftig noch ein paar Punkte mehr. Bis dahin bleibt dieses Debüt ein solides erstes Lebenszeichen mit Perspektive.

ROCK HARD MAGAZINE #31

Taiwan, alebo ak chcete Čínska republika (nemýliť si s Čínou, resp. s Čínskou ľudovou republikou, pozn. red.) je pre nás Európanov vo všeobecnosti dosť odľahlé a asi aj neznáme miesto. Malá, ale zato veľmi odolná ostrovná krajina si to pri svojom „veľkom bratovi“ preskákala dosť, no napriek tomu odolala a v súčasnosti nám môže predhodiť dokonca plnohodnotné death metalové dielo, ktoré vyprodukovala kapela s názvom DIESEAR. Na scénu sa kapela prebila už svojím debutom „TheInner Sear“ z roku 2009 a svoj druhý album „Ashes of the Dawn“ vydala ešte v roku 2013. Pre európsky, či svetový trh ho predstavuje až label Total Metal Records, resp. Metal Scrap Records koncom tohto roku a po vypočutí musím skonštatovať, že to bol počin určite nie márny. Desať skladbový druhý album kapely isto hľadá inšpiráciu v melodickom death metale európskeho strihu, predovšetkým severského (napr. ARCH ENEMY a pod.), ale nesmierne nadšenie, hudobnosť, svojská melodičnosť, či metalové cítenie nechá na to všetko zabudnúť a fanúšikovia si môžu vychutnať viac ako polhodinu nefalšovaného a peniazmi nie príliš napáchnutého melodického death metalu.

Nekompromisne rychlэ melodeath se svižne ri(ujícími dvema kytarami? Další švédská kapela? Nikoli, to se až z dalekého Taiwanu hlásí petice DIESEAR. Však taky uvádí IN FLAMES jako svou hlavní inspiraci pro zacátky. Švédská škola je silne cítit celэm albem a melodika si notne vypujcuje z pozdních CHILDREN OF BODOM a jim podobnэch a tu a tam lehce vysvitne náznak metalcoru, se kterэm kapela do velké míry zacínala. Songy se nesou v podobném duchu a podle velmi podobného mustru. Jedna kytara zacne melodii, opíše kolecko a pridá se k ní druhá za plné palby bicích. Písen se posléze prenese do rubací fáze, ze které se postupne vynorí sólující kytara. Zpevák celou kompozici preklenuje rvanэm vokálem. Pak pár zasekávacek, sólo ci dve a jedeme znovu úvodní dvojhru. Osvedcenэ recept, kterэ zabere vždycky. Zvuk je vэtecnэ, ale deska v absenci kláves vyznívá lehce ploše a hravost nahrazuje prímocarostí a presvedcivэm projevem. Jednotlivé skladby lze od sebe težko odlišit, ale moc to ani nevadí, nebot si každá drží vysokэ standard. Príjemnэm zpestrením je pak instrumentální unplugged desítka „Falling Ashes“. Nicméne fanoušek žánru bude nadšen celэch témer 40 minut. Všichni ostatní po pulce zacnou ztrácet pozornost, a když si náležite okoukají nepríliš nápaditэ prebal s vševidoucíma ocima, odloží „Ashes Of The Dawn“ nekam do šuplíku, s tím, že se k ní možná nekdy vrátí, ale spíš ne. Na druhou stranu patrí DIESEAR spolu s CHTHONIC k tomu nejlepšímu, co taiwanská metalová scéna muže nabídnout, pricemž srovnání s evropskou špickou je zcela namíste.

Gorger’s Metal

This Taiwanese quartet released their first* full length album in Taiwan, Japan and Korea three years ago. With help from Total Metal Records the album’s now being released worldwide.
Diesear, composed of Latin УDies SearФ (day of labelling/burn branding), play melodic death metal with a little modern tendency that leaves me with a rather ambivalent impression.
*Just to make it clear, my papers say that The Inner Sear (2009) is a maxi-single, not a full length album.
This album has both positive and negative aspects. The benefits must however be said to dominate. Albeit narrowly.
Initially it felt good to absorb some more extreme music than what the bands I’ve recently spent time with has provided, although the style was very melodic. After a while, however, Ashes Of The Dawn begins to feel a bit glistening or slick, if you catch my drift. Mediocre to a certain degree, perhaps, but not completely generic. On the surface Diesear plays typically well known melo-death, with no hint of local flavour, unfortunately, and the strained death vocals induces a modern approach I could do very well without.
Fortunately the band exhibit advantageous properties in the songs. The Taiwanese has crafted songs that isn’t necessarily inferior to those found in bands coming out of Europe and America (by the dozens). When these are performed with dedication, punch, decent variety and capable instrumentation and sound, that gives plus points in my book.
What tips the scales in the bands favour however, is the guitars, tearing of good old solos and other melodic licks just about whenever. These definitely makes this album on their own, if I can put it that way.
Whether Ashes Of The Dawn is for you, depends entirely on a) how much you love melodic death metal and b) if you are willing to go through fire and water in order to hear some wonderful guitar works.
The album consists of 40 minutes including the bonus track Dig Your Lies included with this (re-)release.
The album is better than it is bad, but I’ve personally had enough of it.

Variety Of Death Zine

Disear are a band from Taiwan that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album “Ashes Of The Dawn” which was re-issued in 2015 by Metal Scrap Records.
A very dark and melodic sound starts off the album before going into a heavier direction as well as adding in guitar solos and leads and after the intro the music starts going into more of a melodic death metal direction as well as adding in high pitched screams and when themusic speeds up blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the vocals also utilize growls at times while some songs also bring in more of a modern melodic death metal style and they also bring in a couple of brief instrumentals that also introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording along with a few seconds of synths before making a return back to vocal tracks and the bonus track also adds in melodic yet rough vocals.
Diesear plays a style of melodic death metal that is very guitar driven and mixes the classic style of the genre in with a more modern sound, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Diesear are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE “Shadows Of Grey” “Dying Dust” and “Blazing Wings”.

Hm, kapeli z Tajwanu to my chyba jeszcze „nie grali”. Właśnie z tej wyspy a konkretniej z miasta Taipei wywodzi się grupa Diesear, istniejąca już prawie dziesięć lat. Omawiany krążek to drugi długograj zespołu, oryginalnie wydany w 2013 roku – teraz dostajemy re-edycję wydaną przez Total Metal Records. Troszkę mi mina zrzedła, gdy przeczytałem że zespół para się melodyjnym death metalem i deathcorem, na które to gatunki mam lekkie uczulenie, ale cóż, do odważnych świat należy. Intro jest niezłe – ciężkie riffy, w tle dźwięki jakby z „Dazed and confused” Zeppelinów, ale nie chwalmy dnia przed zachodem słońca bo często intro jest dobre a potem kupa… no ale wchodzą gitary, jest melodia, jest jej nawet sporo ale na szczęście jest też ciężar i agresja, wchodzi wokal – dobrze jest! Nie ma corowego łkania ani udawania Soilworka, dominuje zwykły growl, przełamywany od czasu do czasu partiami a’la środkowe In Flames. Ogólnie fanom In Flames z okolic „Claymana” propozycja Disear powinna przypaść do gustu. Choć… Tajwańczycy brzmią jakby mężniej. Serio, zwykle ajronmejdenowe galopady czy riffy w cięższym graniu i nadmiar melodyjek mnie doprowadzają do szewskiej pasji a tutaj jakoś nie. Może dlatego, że fantastyczną robotę odbębnia garowy? Sporo jest momentów, gdzie zagrywki perkusyjne wywołały szeroki uśmiech na mojej mordzie. Niby to nie tak ważne ale jednak fajnie że gość pokombinował zamiast jechać najprostsze rytmy pod gitarę rytmiczną. Może nie będę do tego albumu wracał często, ale jeśli tak ma wyglądać przyszłość nieco bardziej mainstreamowych odmian ekstremy, to ja jestem za! A w sytuacji, gdy te wszystkie inflejmsy, soilworki już dawno zjadły swój własny ogon, At The Gates po reaktywacji nie zachwyca, to czemu by nie dać szansy muzykom z dalekiego Tajwanu? Fajna płytka i tyle.

Lords Of Metal

Diesear are a melodic death metal band from Taiwan that was established in 2007. So far they have released three CD’s: ‘Sear’ (EP, 2008), ‘The Inner Sear’ (mini CD, 2009) and ‘Ashes Of The Dawn’ (full-length, 2013). The most recent CD was released through the Taiwanese record label Meteora Records three years back, but now it is made available in Europe through Total Metal Records / Metal Scrap Records.
This is a good thing. Diesear plays new school melodic death metal that is quite enjoyable. Honestly, I was astonished by the quality of this CD. I had no idea what to expect from a band from Taiwan, but these guys deliver the goods! Fans of especially Arch Enemy will for sure love ‘Ashes Of The Dawn’. The songs work out very well, they for sure emphasize the abilities of this band. If you are searching for a more exotic band that has the ability to achieve some success in the European region, Diesear is a band you definitely have to check out.

Zombie Ritual Fanzine

This is my first encounter with metal scene from Taiwan, and as usual, I’m more than satisfied with high level compositions and high musical skills in all members.
Coming from Taipei, these guys formed the band in 2007 and they have released two full length albums so far. This is melodic death metal highly influenced by Swedish sound and aggressive lines. Also, contains doses of modern elements and literally tons of guitar arrangements. It seems like these young musicians have spent a lot of time in composing the tracks, as everything sounds clear, solid and almost technical. Actually, the guitar work is awesome and denotes both guitarists with good musical tastes. For example, track “Breath Remains” which is an emotive instrumental song with good melodic sections and superlative guitar technique. This album is balanced and very well produced, and I’m sure it will be a reference for modern metal music in that country. If you are looking for fresh blood in melodic metal, coming from non-common places around the globe, this is a good option. Support!

Metal Revolution

Taiwan-based quartet Diesar have recently signed a deal with Metal Scrap Records (last year to be more exact). This coincides perfectly with the release of their second full-length album, entitled Ashes of the Dawn. And while Melodic Death Metal might not be as popular as it was ten years ago, Diesar definitely does a great job at proving that the genre is far from dead. Sure, they might be a bit less melodic than many of their European (and, in particular, Scandinavian counterparts), yet this more aggressive approach (I would not go as far as calling it more brutal; They are still closer to Kataklysm than Entombed, for instance) suits Diesar well, and they manage to carry it well. As a matter of fact, Ashed of the Dawn contains ten powerful and relentless tracks (if you count the outro; which, for some peculiar reason, shows up immediately prior to the bonus track), each of which is worth a mention in and of its own. Sadly, that would take up a lot of space and do very little in order to illustrate my point, other than showcase how deeply this album has impressed me. Instead, I have opted to put in a link which allows you to listen to the album in its entirety below. I am well aware that I have not done as great a job as I probably could to describe this album, which is due to the fact that the entire album flows together, starting from ”Faith in Ares” all the way to ”Blazing Wings” into one, whole masterpiece (which is made more impressive since this is not a concept album). Sure, the fact that there is a bonus track after the outro is a bit off-putting, but that does not diminish the greatness of ”Falling Ashes” (as the bonus track is called).

Płyta tajwańskiego zespołu Diesear „Ashes of the Dawn” z 2015 roku to wznowienie materiału wydanego dwa lata wcześniej z dodanym bonusowym utworem. Na okładce grafika o charakterze symbolicznym – w stylu diagramów magicznych – choć nie domyślam się, co ma wyrażać ta symbolika. Dobrze pasuje do płyty z muzyką metalową. We wkładce fotka zespołu, członkowie grupy w jednakowych mundurkach, ustylizowani w sposób trochę zniewieściały – co może niektórym przeszkadzać. Ale może w Azji, gdzie panuje inna kultura, tak prezentują się najwięksi twardziele 🙂
Pierwszy utwór „Faith in Ares”, to instrumentalne intro w podniosłym nastroju. Potem na płycie przeważa muzyka melodyjna i jednocześnie bardzo agresywna i motoryczna. Wokalista z chrypą bardzo sprawnie śpiewa po angielsku. Dzięki dobrej produkcji wszystkie instrumenty wyraźnie i klarownie słychać w każdym momencie. Utwory ciekawie skomponowane, dużo się dzieje, nie jest to granie jednego riffu przez cały kawałek. Utwór nr 7 „Breath Remains” to niedługa, instrumentalna, metalowa ballada. Główny gitarzysta daje popis umiejętności gry na swoim instrumencie i wyrażania przy jego pomocy emocji. Krótki utwór nr 10, został zagrany pięknie na dwóch akustycznych gitarach (pod koniec w tle pojawiają się dyskretne klawisze). Obaj gitarzyści bez problemu potrafiliby wykonać flamenco.
Ogólnie cały materiał jest dynamiczny i spójny, słuchanie płyty powinno sprawić dużo satysfakcji wielbicielom melodyjnego death-metalu.

Total Metal are marketing this release as the band’s debut album, but Metal Archives says it’s their second; I’d incline towards Total Metal being right because the 2009 release, The Inner Sear, lasts only a bit over 25 minutes, so it would be better considered as EP rather than LP. Anyway, the band is around since 2007 and it seems they’ve grown into the most respected and biggest Melodic Death Metal band in Taiwan. This album was initially released fro the Asian market in 2013, and now picked up by the Ukrainian label for a Worldwide release, and they did good as Diesear are a truly worthy band. Following roads open by band like Childern of Bodom or Arch Enemy, Diesear are one of those bands that rely heavily on melodic guitar leads and solos all over their material, and their advantage is that their guitarists are exceptional in both composition and execution, delivering some of the best guitar work I’ve heard in a while. The vocals are ok but could have been a bit more vorsatile to reach the guitars’ level, and maybe a bit more comprehensive, too, in order to make tracks a bit more memorable, but I guess the guy did his best on this release and he can’t any more than this; not that it’s bad what he doesn, but it’s not enough, just listen to the last tracks where he’s clearly overwhelmed by what he tries. The rhythm section does a good job remaining subtle yet still supporting very well the great guitar work. A very good debut album that should be followed by a second full-length asap as it’s already old although re-released.

Battle Helm

I’ve been trying to figure out how to pronounce this bands name and what kind of word play it is but with no luck really. So instead of wrecking my brain on that enigma I’ll concentrate on the music instead. Hopefully it’ll prove less of a challenge. This Taiwanese band plays a sort of melodic death metal that is easy to take in. no strange time changes or break beats. Just full speed ahead melodic death metal. Perhaps not something we haven’t heard before but they do it with such conviction that you easily forget that you’ve heard this sound before. A really good death metal album.
